The Long Overdue Basement Post

My incredibly talented, loving, and hardworking husband has worked for over a year and a half on our basement. We have spent endless nights, long hours, and almost every spare second these last few months to wrap it up and boy it's better than I had imagined. We still have a few things to do but for the most part, its DONE! I must say, I have myself a Mr. Handyman. The only thing he contracted out was the drywall. That and we couldn't have gotten it done without my sister and Bill. They stayed many late nights getting things wrapped up for the big day! Thank you so much for all your help and we appreciate everything you did to make this happen for us.

The staircase and bar/lounge area. We still need to buy the countertop and cabinets and I do believe my knees are still bruised from laying, leveling, and cleaning those tiles. BUT, they are (along with that light fixture) my FAVORITE part of the basement!

The main rec area with the guest room on the right (my family is in town so it is FULL of air matresses):

The bathroom. This is the last major piece to be finished. We did the tile on the floor and now have to work on the walls. The entire bathroom will be tiled! Tommie also put in heated floors. Ooohhhhh... lalaaaa.

The gym! And more tile... And a look back down the rec room:

AND the playroom... my amazing sister painted the room to the girls favorite book theme. Can you guess the book????

So, there it is in a nutshell. Now you have to come on by to see it for yourself because the pictures don't give it justice. Thank you babe for making this a special place for the family!
