Most mothers remember the first day they had to go back to work after their maternity leave was over because often times it's also the first day spent away from their child (or children). So many emotions flood your body that day... that very much dreaded day.
I remember it vividly. The girls first day was bitter sweet for me though. We walked in the front door, down the hall to London's new classroom, and sat Piper down to get London settled in. It was at that precise moment that I knew I would be ok. London didn't come running to Tommie and I, instead she walks up to Piper, leans into her carseat and says "Love you Pi-pa... see you later" and gives her a kiss.
I turn around and walk out of the front door (crying of course) with a sweet sense of relief. Relief that my 2 year old toddler provided with just an innocent kiss on her baby sisters forehead.
